Help Fund Medical Flights
Hi, my name is Kyle (family name and face hidden for security purposes). I was a lone soldier in a combat unit in the IDF called Givati. I served active duty between 2007-2009 and during my service I suffered two very serious injuries. During Advanced Training, during an obstacle course run, I fell 15 feet onto my back due to faulty equipment. I continued to serve despite severe and sometimes crippling pain – carrying the extremely heavy load of an infantry soldier. Later in my service, during a military operation, I was stabbed in the eye with a foreign object and was extracted and then taken to the hospital.
Fast forward to the present. I’ve been living a life in pain surviving through painkillers and long periods of immobilization. So far they discovered two bulging discs and found a large fissure in my spine. It’s difficult to be a father, rarely able to pick up my little children (we have 4), and it’s a terrible strain on my wife. The eye damage causes me frequent headaches, blurred vision, difficulty focusing, and inability to drive at night. In addition, difficulty working and the cost of medical expenses/examinations have put a tremendous burden on our family.
We got word the Ministry of Defense wants me to report for proceedings in front of a committee to determine whether I qualify for some benefits in addition to a series of in-depth medical exams. This will require two round-trip flights from my home in USA to Israel. We are trying to raise funds for the flight, car rental, and other travel-related expenses for these trips.

שלום לכולם קוראים לי ק ( שמי ופניי מטושטשים מסיבות בטחוניות)הייתי חייל בודד בחטיבת גבעתי בגדוד רותם , מ2007-2009 ובמהלך שירותי הצבאי נפצעתי באופן חמור פעמיים. במהלך אימון מתקדם , במסלול מכשולים נפלתי מטיפוס חבל בגובה 5 מטר בעודי לובש את כל הציוד עליי ( ווסט קרמי , קסדה ונשק) ונחתתי על הגב בשל ציוד פגום..
המשכתי לשרת למרות פציעתי החמורה וכאביי הרבים , סוחב על גבי את 2 שני טילי הגיל שמאפיינים את המחלקה שלי .
לאחר מכן שעבר שובצתי במחלקה הסופית שלי בשירות במהלך מבצע צבאי , נדקרתי בעיני הימנית מעצם זר וחולצתי ונלקחתי לביה”ח וולפסון שם טופלתי במהלך הלילה ושוחררתי בבוקר עם רטייה על עיני .
כרגע בהווה , אני חי חיים מלאים בכאב , שורד עם משככי כאבים ותקופות ממושכות של חוסר ניידות ותנועה .
עד כה גילו לי 2 דיסקים פרוצים וקרע של 3 מילימטר בעמוד השדרה שלי .
קשה מאוד להיות אבל לארבעת ילדיי הקטנים המופלאים ולהרים אותם, לזרוק אותם באוויר , לשחק איתם , לרדוף אחריהם במגרש המשחקים וזה נטל ענק ומעמסה רגשית על אשתי החזקה והמדהימה שמחזיקה את כל המבצר.
הנזק לעין גורם לי לכאבי ראש תכופים , ראייה מטושטשת , קושי בריכוז ודיוק הראייה ואי יכולת לנהוג כשמחשיך.
בנוסף קושי לעבוד ויוקר ההוצאות הרפואיות / ובדיקות רפואיות הוסיפו נטל כלכלי עצום על משפחתי .
קיבלנו מכתב ממשרד הביטחון שדורש ממני להגיע לבדיקות רפואיות רבות ווועדות רפואיות והמון ביריוקרטיה כדי לקבוע אם אני זכאי להטבות כנכה צה”ל .
זה דורש ממני 2 “טיולים” הלוך ושוב מביתי בארצות הברית לארץ היקרה שלנו( תרתי משמע) אנחנו מנסים לגייס כסף עבור הטיסות , השכרת הרכב והוצאות נוספות הכרוכות בטיסות שכאלה .
